The Rapaport Price List is the diamond trade's most widely used price benchmark. It's Rapaport's weekly view of high cash asking prices for well-cut white diamonds, in US dollars. If you have a Price List subscription, you can view and download it on Rapaport Trade, on the web or in the app.
What the Rapaport Price List is
The prices reflect Rapaport's opinion, based on its own research and market insight. Key facts:
Published weekly, every Thursday at midnight New York time
Covers round and pear shapes (the Pear list is also the benchmark for other fancy shapes)
Sizes from 0.01 to 10.99 carats
All prices in US dollars
Based on fine-cut stones: Rapaport Specification A3 or better, with no strong or medium fluorescence
Good to know: The Price List isn't a record of actual transaction prices. It's a benchmark of sellers' asking prices for cash deals, with no memo, returns or payment terms.
Which price lists are available
You'll find these lists on the Rapaport Price List page in Rapaport Trade:
Price list | What it covers |
Round | Round diamonds, including old European cuts. Updated weekly, every Thursday at midnight New York time. |
Pear | Pear shapes. Also use it as a guide for other fancy shapes, as there's no separate list for each one. Updated weekly, with the Round list. |
Parcel | Round, non-certified parcels traded in the Indian market. Updated monthly, on the 1st. |
Rapaport Trade price list | Rapaport Trade's own price list. See Understanding the Rapaport Trade Price List. |
Indian rupee prices | Round and Pear prices in Indian rupees. |
The Parcel Price List
The Parcel Price List uses Very Good cut as its base price. As a rough guide:
Excellent cut: about 10% premium
Good cut: about 10% discount
Diamonds from 0.01 to 0.29 carats are usually traded as parcels, so their prices on the main Price List reflect parcel prices.
Good to know: There's no Rapaport price list for fancy-colored diamonds.

How to read the Price List
Each table (matrix) covers one carat-weight range. Colors run down the side from D to M, and clarities run across the top from IF to I3. Each figure is the price in hundreds of US dollars per carat.
Rapaport Diamond Indexes (RDI)
Under each matrix for rounds of 1/3 carat and larger, you'll see two indexes:
RDI, W (white) – the average price per carat of the 25 top grades in that size range: colors D to H, clarities IF to VS2
RDI, T (total) – the average price per carat of every grade in the matrix: colors D to M, clarities IF to I3
Each index is shown in hundreds of dollars per carat, followed by an = sign and the percentage change since the previous Price List.
What affects a diamond's price
The Price List assumes a well-cut, accurately graded stone with no strong or medium fluorescence. A real stone may trade above or below it for the reasons below.
Cut
A poorly cut, flat or deep diamond is worth much less than a well-cut one.
Medium-cut stones often trade at a slight discount; poorly cut stones can trade at very large discounts.
For fancy shapes, the outline and cut quality have a big effect on price.
Prices are based on Rapaport Specification A3 or better. See Rapaport Specifications (RapSpecs).
Specifications don't replace a trained eye. Details such as off-center culets, wavy girdles, large naturals, angles and proportions all affect cut, and graining can affect price too.
Fluorescence
Strong or medium fluorescence can make high-color stones look milky.
Buyers often discount fluorescent high-color stones even when they don't look milky.
In lower colors (J to M), fluorescence can improve how the color looks and may help the price.
In some markets, such as Singapore, the right type of fluorescent stone can sell at a premium.
Grading reports
Prices assume accurate grading to GIA standards, except SI3.
Stones the trade normally sends to a lab (0.50 carats and up, D to K, IF to VS2) are priced as if they have a GIA report.
Smaller and lower-quality stones are priced on honest grading.
Stones with non-GIA reports may trade at a discount.
Good to know: Lab grading is subjective, and the same diamond can be graded differently each time. The report's accuracy, authenticity, date and issuing lab can all affect value.
