Track and Manage Shared Diamonds on Rapaport Trade (formerly RapNet)

Monitor Customer Engagement for Items Shared via Email, Link, and Social Media

Written by Philippa Corrick

Track and manage the diamonds you share. See who has viewed or responded to your items on the Items Shared page, follow up on customer leads, and make sure you don't miss a sale.

View shared items on the Items Shared page

The Items Shared page tracks items shared by email, public link or Facebook post. This video explains how to keep track of everything you've shared.

Good to know: items you share with Rapaport Trade members in Chat don't appear on the Items Shared page. You'll find them in the conversation in Chats & Trades. Use email, link or Facebook for non-members, and Chat for member-to-member conversations.

The Items Shared page

Go to People > ITEMS SHARED to see a table of all your shared items.

Columns:

  1. Item Shared (lot number): active links are blue. Click to open the diamond item page.

  2. Item description

  3. Shared Markup Price

  4. Date shared

  5. Link Expiry Date: emailed links expire after 48 hours, after which the date is replaced with "expired".

  6. Shared with: the contact you shared the item with.

  7. Status: Not Opened, Opened, Customer liked this item or Customer disliked this item.

  8. Views: how many people have viewed the item.

Deactivate shared links

Links expire automatically (48 hours for email, 7 days for public link and Facebook), but you can deactivate them at any time:

  1. Go to your Items Shared page.

  2. Hover over the item.

  3. Click the bin icon.

  4. Confirm.

Once deactivated, the blue link turns black, and the customer can no longer see the shared item page.

Managing leads from shared items

When a customer interacts with a shared item (by email, link or Facebook), Rapaport Trade adds the lead to your Leads page and notifies you.

What happens when a customer responds

  • Email shares: the customer can click "I like this item" or "Send me something else". Once clicked, both options disappear and we email you.

  • Link and Facebook shares: the customer fills out an inquiry form with their contact details. This creates a New Lead notification on Rapaport Trade and an email.

Leads page overview

  • Customer name and email: each lead's contact information.

  • Interested item(s): the diamond the customer asked about.

  • Price: the price shown to the customer, including any markup.

  • Inquiry date: when the customer submitted their inquiry.

Actions on the Leads page

  • Add to Contacts: adds the lead to your Contacts with all their information, so you can track follow-ups.

  • Open Item Page: view the item the customer is interested in.

  • Send Seller a Message: if you're not the item owner, message the seller in Chats & Trades to discuss the item.

Tip: make sure your notifications are set up so you don't miss new inquiries. Set your notification preferences.
