You can add up to 5 images and 5 videos to each diamond. Images can be uploaded as files or added as links. Videos are always added as links.
Before you start: read the Diamond Media Guidelines for formats, sizes and what not to include in diamond media.
Diamond images
Images must be in JPG, PNG or GIF format. Adding them is a two-step process: upload them to your Media Library, then connect them to your diamonds.
Step 1: Upload images to the Media Library
To upload a few images, go to the Media Library on Rapaport Trade.
To upload a lot of images at once, use FTP. See Using FTP to Upload Inventory & Images.
For step-by-step instructions, see Diamond Media Management.
Step 2: Connect images to your diamonds
One diamond at a time
From the item page: go to Manage My Diamonds, open the diamond's item page, then click Manage Media > Add Media.
From the Media Library: find the image, click Connect, then search for the diamond by lot # or stock #.
Many diamonds, using your inventory file
If an image's file name matches the diamond's stock number or certificate number, it connects automatically. For example, an image named ABC123.jpg connects to the diamond with stock number ABC123.
If a diamond has more than one image, or the file names don't match, enter the file names in the Diamond Image column of your inventory file. Include the file extension (.jpg, .png or .gif) and separate each file name with a semicolon.
Add images as links instead
If your images are hosted online, you can add their links instead of uploading files. Paste the links into the Diamond Image column of your inventory file. Each link must start with HTTPS and end in .jpg, .png or .gif. We recommend uploading images to the Media Library and keeping only video links in your inventory file.
Diamond videos
Videos are added as links, up to 5 per diamond. Each link must:
start with HTTPS
open a page that shows only the diamond video, not a page with other diamond information or listings
Where you paste the link depends on who hosts the video:
From one of the approved video providers: paste it in the Video Link field.
From any other provider: paste it in the Diamond Video URL column of your inventory file.
If a video doesn't show in the media section of the item page, contact us. We'll check the link and add the video for you.
Sarine videos
Enter the Sarine friendly name, either in the single upload form or in the Sarine Loupe column of your inventory file. The Sarine video shows on the item page as soon as the diamond is listed.
If something doesn't work
For images or videos that don't show, see Troubleshooting Diamond Media Uploads.
