Managing Trades in Chats & Trades

Where to find your deals in Chats & Trades, what each status means, and when deals expire or are archived.

Written by Philippa Corrick

Know where to find your deals in Chats & Trades, what the labels and statuses in the conversation list mean, and what happens to deals over time. For negotiating, agreeing, cancelling or archiving a deal yourself, see Negotiate and agree to an offer.

Where to find your deals

  • Buy holds deals where you're the buyer, and Sell deals where you're the seller. All shows both, plus your chats. On Buy and Sell, each item shows once, with each interested buyer and their latest price beneath it.

  • Use the filters under the search box to narrow the list: Unread shows only conversations with something you haven't opened, and Diamonds or Gems shows only that product type.

  • Select the archive icon at the end of the filter row. On All and Chats it shows your archived chats. On Buy and Sell it shows Archived Trades, where cancelled and archived deals sit together. Select the icon again to go back.

Good to know: you can unarchive a chat from its menu. An archived deal can't be restored, so start a new offer from the listing.

Labels in the list

On the Buy and Sell tabs, a deal can show one of two labels:

  • New (green): the other side did something you haven't opened yet.

  • Agreed: both sides have agreed the price.

A deal with no offer yet shows no price.

What the statuses mean

The latest status shows under each item in the conversation list and as a note in the conversation.

  • Agreed to this offer: one side has agreed. The deal shows Agreed once both sides have.

  • Cancelled the deal: one side cancelled. The other side is always told.

  • This conversation went quiet: the offer has expired after 14 days with no activity. This is how an expired offer shows; there's no separate "expired" status. It can take up to 6 hours to appear. Agreed deals don't get this note.

Expiry and archiving

  • Offers expire after 14 days with no activity on the deal or in its chat. Any message resets the clock. When an offer expires, the conversation shows "This conversation went quiet".

  • An agreed deal with no activity for 14 days is closed automatically. There's no note in the chat when this happens.

  • A closed deal is archived automatically 60 days after its last activity.

  • Cancelled deals move to Archived Trades.

  • All your deals stay in your account for future reference, whether they're active, expired, cancelled or archived.

Tip: if the other side isn't responding to your price, send them a message in the same conversation. Any message also keeps the offer from expiring.
