Set Up MFA on Rapaport Trade (formerly RapNet)

Follow these steps to set up multi-factor authentication (MFA) using an authenticator app or your phone.

Written by Philippa Corrick

MFA protects your Rapaport Trade account by requiring your password and a temporary six-digit verification code when you sign in.

For stronger security, we recommend using an authenticator app.

Set up MFA

  1. Sign in to Rapaport Trade.

  2. Choose your preferred verification method:

    • Authenticator app: Open Google Authenticator or another compatible authenticator app and scan the QR code shown on the Rapaport Trade screen.

    • Phone: Enter your phone number and choose to receive your six-digit code by text message or phone call.

  3. Enter the six-digit code and select Continue.

  4. Save the recovery code somewhere secure. You can use this one-time code to regain access if your usual verification method is unavailable.

Setting up an authenticator app on one smartphone

If Rapaport Trade and your authenticator app are on the same phone, you may not be able to scan the QR code. Instead:

  1. Download Google Authenticator from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.

  2. In the Rapaport Trade app, select Authenticator, then Trouble Scanning.

  3. Select Copy the Code.

  4. Open Google Authenticator and select the + icon.

  5. Select Enter a setup key and paste the copied code.

  6. Google Authenticator will generate a six-digit code. Enter this code in Rapaport Trade to complete the setup.

Add biometric authentication

If supported by your device, you can also use fingerprint or facial recognition.

You must first set up an authenticator app or phone verification as your primary MFA method before enabling biometrics.

Signing in on a new browser or device

When you sign in on a new browser, device, or app, you will need:

  • Your Rapaport Trade password

  • A six-digit code from your authenticator app or phone

You can choose to have Rapaport Trade remember the device for 30 days. You may be asked to verify again sooner if you sign out, change your password, clear your browser cookies, or use a different browser.

Changing your verification phone number

You cannot change the phone number used for MFA from your Rapaport Trade account.

If you no longer have access to the registered phone number, contact Rapaport Trade Support for assistance.

Important

  • Only the Primary Account Holder can set up or change MFA for the account.

  • Never share your password, verification code, or recovery code with anyone.

  • Rapaport Trade representatives will never ask you for your password or verification code.

  • Keep your recovery code somewhere secure and separate from the device you use for authentication.
