Buyers on Rapaport Trade compare thousands of listings before they make an offer. These seven steps help your diamonds get found, trusted and bought.
1. Price competitively
Check TradeScreen to see how your prices compare with the market.
Use Rapaport ListingIQ to see where each diamond's price and listing age sit against comparable stones, and which listings need attention first.
Use Rapaport SellerIQ to see which of your diamonds buyers are searching for, opening and watching. After a price change, check whether interest picks up.
Use Diamond Insights to position and rank each listed diamond. See How to use the Diamond Insights tool.
Good to know: ListingIQ and SellerIQ are part of Market Intelligence. To find out about access, contact us.
2. List complete, accurate details
Buyers filter their searches by grading details, so diamonds with complete, accurate data show up in more results.
Fill in as many fields as you can, so the item page tells buyers everything they need without having to ask. See Diamond Fields & Values.
Guarantee the availability of your diamonds wherever possible.
Make sure your listings meet the Diamond Listing Requirements.
3. Add images and videos
Good images and videos are one of the most effective ways to sell a diamond. They show buyers both the highlights and any imperfections, and save them asking you for pictures. You can add up to 5 images and 5 videos to each diamond.
Listings with media get more attention from buyers. They're also more likely to be shared and to be shown on members' websites through Instant Inventory.
To add media, see Upload Diamond Images & Videos.
For formats, sizes and approved video providers, see Diamond Media Guidelines.
4. Build trust with your profile and terms
Ask your account manager to set up your name code, so your listings show your company name instead of your account number. See My company name is not showing up next to my diamond listings.
Complete your company profile with your logo and a short description, so buyers can get to know you.
Ask buyers you've traded with for a rating or endorsement.
Set up your shipping details and term sheet, so buyers see your payment, shipping and returns terms in the Terms tab of every deal. See Managing your preferences, privacy and permissions.
5. Keep your listings fresh
List consistently, and update your listings at least once a week so they don't lapse.
Review older stones regularly. A diamond that's been listed a long time and is priced high for its category is the least likely to sell.
6. Respond quickly to buyers
Reply to messages and offers in Chats & Trades as soon as you can. Buyers often contact several sellers about similar stones.
Turn on the alerts you need, by email, in the app or by SMS and WhatsApp, so you don't miss a buyer. See Managing Notifications.
Check Buy Requests regularly, and use the filters on the right-hand side to find requests you can fill.
Join RapChat Buy/Sell Groups to see and answer buy requests from your phone.
7. Reach more buyers through Instant Inventory
Instant Inventory shows Rapaport Trade diamonds on participating members' websites, at a markup each member sets. Allowing members to display your listings puts your diamonds in front of their customers too.
